Overcoming An American Crisis
Black Americans live sicker and die younger than any other ethnic group in the nation. Why is this happening? The reasons are complex and rooted in racism. The Skin You’re In docufilm series investigates this disturbing phenomenon from its various angles.  We identify the problem, explain the causes and offer real solutions.

The docufilm series takes viewers on a journey they can relate to. We talk to leading health experts and researchers from around the country who explain and identify what can and is being done. But mostly we show the health problems firsthand in the everyday lives of African American families telling their stories. We meet and introduce everyday extraordinary individuals throughout the nation who are valued health experts too -- people taking positive action to heal their lives, their families and their communities.
