Imani M. Cheers, Ph.D. is an award winning multimedia producer, filmmaker and Assistant Professor in the School of Media and Public Affairs at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

She is the co-creator and Managing Editor of Newsroom U and co-Executive Director for The Global Media Project. Dr. Cheers is directing her first film The Minority Vote about millennials and the upcoming Presidential election and also writing her first book, a historical and contemporary analysis of black women in Hollywood set for publication in early 2017.

Cheers has been a regular contributor on CCTV America and featured on CTV Canada offering insights on American politics, pop culture and international affairs.
