Lupus Awareness And Its Effects On Black Women - As many as 1 in 250 Black women will develop lupus in their lifetime. The autoimmune disease tends to attack Black women around their 30s at higher rates than White women. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention published a study done by Emory University in 2013 that examined the relationship of Black women to Lupus.
